La Boheme

In this opera we wanted to focused on how these artists where Bohemian and that this was a state of mind for them. These artists could be from any time or place so it would be relatable to all artists. Lighting worked in this world in a two fold manor first was that when they would be in a Bohemian state of mind that colors would become much more saturated to fit their personality. The second being they could shape their world and bring life into it. Different objects such as walls, tables, and props would light up at their touch. Having these LED’s imbedded into different scenery created another level to this world that as a designer I could manipulate for the audience. This all led up to the end when we wanted to pursue this double death, not only of the main love interest but of their Bohemian spirit as well. The colors were drained from the world and the imbedded LED’s didn’t respond or as well.
